Note to Self

Hi everyone!!

Amber with Best Stamped Intentions here with today's PL Inspiration post.

As I've been doing strictly Project Life for 2.5 years now, I'm finding my "process" change.  I used to do our spreads on a weekly basis, but now that Neysa is older and is busy with school/dance/playing with friends, I was finding that our weeks were getting kind of repetitive and boring. :)  So, I've switched to a monthly spread.  I do specific events (dance competitions, holidays, a friend's birthday party, etc. for example) together, and then I usually have a few pages of random stuff that we've done throughout the month that's notable, but not necessarily belonging to anything specific.

My very favorite part of doing it monthly is going back through my Momento app, and doing screen shot prints of the funny (or sometimes not so funny.) things that have happened that or that Neysa has said that I've posted in Instagram or Facebook.  Using the Design F protector, I cut them down to 3x4 squares and scrapbook them just as I would a picture.  I love looking back (especially since it's now the end of August and today's project is from April....) and re-living those moments.

That's what it's all about, right??

Here's April 2015:

I am TOTALLY diggin' the flower card with the random petals stitched with Cape Cod Twine!

Timehop makes for some fun screen shots as well. :)
I did another twine frame around the bottom right picture.  I really love how it gives it some dimension.

These doilies are FABULOUS for adding even more texture/depth to your basic cards.

I'll be back September 6th with my very first PlanNerd post!  I'm pretty excited for that. :)
xoxo, Amber

I used patterned paper by Crate Paper and a card by Maggie Holmes. Also I design the 'life is good' tag and print it to be added on the bottom right on the planner page.

Teen Boy Birthday Cards

Hi there, Maria here from Maria Lina's Creative Designs. As promised from my last post on here for the birthday tags, here are the matching teen birthday cards I made using the "Cape Cod" twine.

I have twin boys who will be 16 on Monday, I normally don't do matching of anything because they would probably throw a fit, lol. But this once I was "allowed" to make them matching cards and I'm sure I will be the last time I get to do this. (sad face)

I think this is a perfect masculine card, especially for teen boys. I love how it uses the acronym for the sentiment, which seems to be the in thing these days. I did add some metallic screw brads on each side and some metallic eyelets for the enclosure. I tied several layers of twine and frayed the edges to give it a more rugged look.

Wishing a Happy 16th Birthday to my boys... Andrew and Nicholas!!! <3 <3 <3

Enjoy...

Once again the matching tags.

Mrs. Brimbles weaving project

Hi All, it's Anna aka Mrs Brimbles back again to share something different with you this week...

Many moons ago I went to college (I'm not gonna tell you how long because it makes me feel old he he!) and at college I studied art in many forms. I did the traditional drawing and painting but also some textile arts. I loved the textile arts more than I did the paining and drawing as I had less criticisms from the tutors for these. Yes I was criticised heavily by my teachers who just didn't 'get me', it's only because I loved art so much that I carried on regardless but that is another story for another day! The two textile art modules that I took where weaving and batik.

I haven't thought about my weaving for a long, long time. I used to love it though and got some very good marks for it. One day I was browsing on instagram and a weaving came up in my feed. I followed some of the hastags as I often do and found myself immersed in various weaving accounts which I have been lusting over ever since.

I decided to get my loom out again, I kept it because I knew one day I would use it again. Since I saw those photos I have actually made a few weavings, it's a bit like riding a bike, how to do it came flooding back to me. I am not quite as good as I used to be as following an accident I had last year with one of my hands my dexterity skills aren't quite as good as they used to be for finer work. Still I don't let that deter me, I enjoy it and find it very relaxing. As much as I like to paint and draw, there is something to be said for making or crafting somthing 3d with your hands and seeing it come to life.

I am always looking at different woold and fibres as my love for the art has never waivered. One of the things with weaving or textile arts is that it can be more pleasing to the eye to have more textures to look at so when I saw the twine from Timeless Twine I knew it would be perfect to incorporate into a weaving project!

I used the pink and white twine to create the warp. The warp is the vertical threads that you then weave your project onto. Once this was done I was then off! Here is what my finished piece looks like:

As you can see I used various shades of pink and white. I used this colour scheme as I had a friend in mind that I wanted to make this for and she loves pink!

I used a stick that I found when out on one of my walks in the woods near where I live. I love that you can bring personal elements that mean something to you into your art and your work. I used the same twine for the hanging loop.

Here are some close up images of the finished piece:

As I mentioned, this was a gift for a friend so I had to package it up all nicely. Funnily enough, packaging and wrapping is not my strong point what so ever! I have never been very good at it, I don't know why! Anyways I try my best. I used manilla tissue paper to wrap it up, folded a doilly round (I have Pinterest to thank for that!) and then used one of the other twines to 'string it up'. If I do say so myself, it looks rather nice.

I really hope my friend likes it and I hope you have enjoyed seeing something a little bit different to my usual art / journal / planner posts!

Snorkle & Snuba

Happy Friday, friends!!

Amber here from Best Stamped Intentions up today on the Timeless Twine/Bella Creationz blog with a new PL spread from our trip to Hawaii last September.

I can't believe it's already been a year...  For those who don't know, Snuba is a mix between snorkeling and scuba diving.  You're tethered to a raft that carries the oxygen for you instead of in tanks on your back.  I wasn't able to breathe w/the respirators so I couldn't do it, but my husband did and had a BLAST!

I chose to keep this LO very simple as the pictures really speak for themselves.  The Cape Cod Twine was the perfect neutral with some color for this project. The banner was so fun to make!

I also used Days of the Week Journaling Cards, and the Hello Summer Stamp Set to add a few little pops of cute. :)

xoxo, Amber

Mrs. Brimbles Smore love!!

Hi All, it's Anna aka Mrs Brimbles here to show you my planner pages again.

As you will see my stamping is coming on leaps and bounds! I seem to make less of a mess with an older ink pad and although the ink is paler, I am actually quite liking this looks as to me it does look more 'vintage' which matches the type writer font perfectly!

Mr B wears 'nerd glasses' so I thought it would be great to use that stamp for our date night he he!

I love the mix of my handwriting, stamping, my doodles, washi tape and stickers. It is all of me, all of who I am rolled into my planner pages. I keep my pages all decorated up to look back on as a reflection of what I have done and what we have been up to. For me 'creative planning' is just an extension of my memory keeping and journalling!

I hope you enjoyed seeing my pages as much as I enjoy sharing them with you!

Alphabet Layered Birthday Tags

Hi everyone,  Maria here from Maria Lina's Creative Designs. For this month's projects we will be using some "Cape Cod" Timeless Twine. Yellow is my favorite color and together with grey and white, it's an awesome combo of colors, so I couldn't be happier to make a project or two using this twine.

I made some birthday tags that I found in the Silhouette store- design#72446. There is really no need to add anything to the tag other than the twine, which completes it perfectly. I am currently working on some birthday cards that will be matching with these, I will be sharing it on my next post for Timeless Twine, so stay tuned.

Enjoy...

Shoot for the Moon

Happy Hump-Day, Friends.  Karen N here from Craftily Yours!

This month, we are focusing of the fun and fabulous Timeless Twine in Cape Cod.  This fun twine has grey, yellow and white, and I was thinking stars and moons, so here's what I did!

I created the moon by punching a circle and then punching it again half-way through.  I glued twine down and trimmed the edges.  Those fun sequins are Bella Creationz, Silver Star Sequins.  On top of the glitter paper on top, I also colored the hanging stars and moons with my Wink of Stella pens.  Sparkles!

Hope you have a super sparkly Wednesday!  Thanks for stopping by!

Craftily yours,

Karen

It's You Baby Boy

Hi friends!
It's me Padni and I want to share what I make using Cape Cod Twines from Timeless Twine/Bella Creationz. I love to make scrapbook layout so for this time I make a single page using a lot of twines! This is a quick project, I only spend about 25 minutes to make this page, using pretty twines is kinda a fun activity to do, right?

I focused on the top of page with adding ray of twines, then make a layered composition at the centre of the page using supplies from Elle's Studio, American Crafts, MME, Echo Park and Simple Stories.

Take a closer look of what twines I used, pretty right?

Keep crafting, keep inspiring.
